Errol Price was appointed as the Deputy Auditor General in November 2004. From June 4 to October 28, 2007, he served as the Acting Auditor General.
Errol qualified as a Chartered Accountant in the United Kingdom, and has worked with major accounting firms in London England, the United States, Jamaica, and Canada.
He became a Canadian Chartered Accountant in 1977 and joined the BC Auditor General’s Office in 1982, where he had a lead role in the development of the Office’s performance audit work. Errol led the Office’s performance audits into such areas as trucking safety and earthquake preparedness, and how well the British Columbia school system is doing in fostering a safe learning environment.
As Deputy Auditor General, Errol has been responsible for the Office’s Corporate Services group and the quality of all audit work carried out by the Office.
Also a Certified Management Consultant, Errol has specialized in public sector accountability and performance measurement issues. For a number of years, he led the Office’s work to promote enhanced accountability and performance measurement and management throughout the British Columbia public sector. He has spoken on auditing, accountability and related topics at a number of national and international conferences.
Errol was the 2000/01 National President of the Institute of Public Administration of Canada.
